Media Player for IPad4

Hi All,

First post so please forgive me if it is a stupid question.

I purchased the IPad 4 64G, 3 weeks ago.

I'm going to Europe in 2 days and want to put a bunch of media on it. At the moment my shows aren't compatible with MP4 which Apple supports.

I've been told there are Apps I can use to remotely watch shows that can support AVI, DivX etc. Could someone direct me to the best one?

Many many third party apps for multiple codecs. Personally I use OplayerHD and Goodplayer. Many others will recommend other good options.

No. It was removed from the App Store several months ago.

That's a pity, cos in the real world of PCs it (VLC) is awesome.

It's the best thing ever to hit the PC, IMO.

The iPad version was junk. I've had it, but dumped it. It didn't work in the same way as VLC does on the PC.

It was actually the developer who pulled it from the App Store. As you are probably aware, VideoLAN are great believers in open source software, Apple are not so, having decided there was no common ground, VideoLAN decided against compromising their values and pulled the app.
