Kraft foods has today launched an iPad app called Big Fork Little Fork which is designed to provide parents with an interactive resource to help them teach their children valuable cooking knowledge, smart eating habits and basic kitchen skills. The app features 300 recipes, how-to videos, entertaining and educational games, and interactive elements to help transform the way parents involve their kids at mealtimes.

“Kraft Foods understands that parents are hungry for food ideas that their kids will enjoy. Our Big Fork Little Fork app is specifically designed to answer that need and is set to transform how families approach cooking and eating together. We see the iPad as the ideal device to host our newly developed content – it’s a highly interactive way for parents to engage with the app both in the kitchen and around the home."
Ed Kaczmarek, Director of Innovation, Consumer Experiences at Kraft Foods.

Kraft says that according to a recent study, last year 37 million Web searches were conducted for family and kids’ food-related resources, yet there is still no dominant source for this sort of information, so it’s aiming to put this right with Big Fork Little Fork. Kraft Foods also intends to continue to grow the app’s content, and starting this fall it will be partnering with a select group of celebrity chefs to develop chef-branded content packs available for download through in-app purchase. Marcus Samuelsson, winner of Top Chef Masters, will be the first featured chef showcasing his recipes, tips and photos, and bringing his global perspective of food and flavors to the app.

The Big Fork Little Fork app is available for download now from the App Store for $1.99.
