iPad Air not charging

got low battery (10%) notice. Plugged in, got blinking image of plug end, lightning bolt and battery with 3-4 red lines on it. 3 hours later, still no charge.
Tried reboot, image in photo goes away, I get a black screen. When I let go of buttons, image in attached file returns. Thoughts on what the problem is and a fix to charge?

If possible, change cable, charger and power outlet. If your iPad still doesn't charge, take a look at the lightning port. If you see some dust or dirt there, remove it with a clean, never before used toothbrush, and try charging again.

If this doesn't help either, try force starting your iPad. That's performed by pressing and holding Home and Power button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. As soon as you see it, let go of both buttons. Your iPad should power up on it's own.

Do you use Apple's cables for charging? Third party cables can cause problems with charging.

Try putting your device in DFU mode. Here are the instructions:

Your last option would be to visit the next Apple Retail Store, and let the experts there take a look at your device, charger and cables.

It's possible that the charging circuit has been damaged. This would be caused by 3rd party chargers or cables that don't regulate the power input properly. This usually requires a board level repair. Look for a local reputable repair shop or try www.mendonipadrehab.com
