‘Noah’ is a new movie directed by Darren Aronofsky starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly which depicts the Biblical flood and Noah’s mission to build the ark. In a recent article on the Wired, it is explained how filmmakers have used an iPad to control a huge overhead lighting and rain system to create the special effects in the game. I know I have seen the movie and they are amazing, indeed. And to think that an iPad has seriously eased the work of the shooting cast, makes us realize how much technology has evolved.

You can have a look at the video to see how Mike Seymour, one of the experts in special effects, is talking about how they managed to produce such impressive imagery and how the iPad has helped. Unfortunately, it was a custom built iPad application and it’s not available on the iTunes Store, that is, of course, if you were planning to create such an amazing movie as Noah.
