Chillingo’s physics-based puzzler Contre Jour, created by developer Mokus, is Game of the Week on the US App Store, and also winning lots of acclaim from the critics for its stylishly addictive appeal. At the time of writing, the HD version has already earned 590 five-star ratings since it was released to the App Store on August 25. The action involves guiding Petit, a little black orb, through the ethereally beautiful levels by manipulating the environment. Use your finger to morph the landscape as you propel Petit to safety. Pull, swipe, and tap various gadgets, including tendrils, geysers and pulleys in order to complete puzzles. The gorgeously artistic style is enhanced by the orchestrated soundtrack courtesy of composer David Ari Leon. Contre Jour has already been nominated for a fistful of awards at E3, including Best Handheld/Mobile Game from the E3 Game Critics, Best Mobile Game of E3 (winner) from GamePro, and Best Mobile Game of E3 from IGN, and justifiably so.
