Earlier this month, Apple launched the iTunes Store in 56 new locations across the world. Now, Cupertino has started renting and selling movies via 42 of these freshly opened stores. Here are the countries from which you can purchase your favorite films from:

Europe: Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine

Africa, the Middle East and India: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Botswana, Cape Verde, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Swaziland, United Arab Emirates, Uganda and Zimbabwe

Asia Pacific: Indonesia, Micronesia, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan

Latin America and the Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago

Nevertheless, in some locations such as South Africa, we are presented only with options coming from companies like Disney or Sony. Other stores don’t offer rentals for HD movies yet. So far, there’s no information when the remaining 14 countries will gain access to the same movie features. The delay is probably related to issues around getting licenses with movie studios in order, so it will probably happen soon.

Apple is actively increasing its presence all over the globe, courtesy of its music stores and now manages to reach 60.96% of the entire world population. Even Microsoft and its popular operating system, Windows, didn’t manage to such a performance, managing to attract only 16% of the world population. Google comes in at number three with a tiny 4.47%.
