Yahoo! Announces Livestand Digital Newstand for iPad

Yahoo has today announced the launch of Livestand from Yahoo! for iPad, a digital newsstand providing constantly-changing content from multiple publishers, programmed according to your own interests and contexts, such as your location and your current time of day. Yahoo! doesn’t have a release date for Livestand just yet, saying only that it will be arriving in the first half of 2011, and that Livestand will bring Yahoo!’s vast digital content library to life, featuring Sports, News, Finance, Flickr, omg! and the Yahoo! Contributor Network. Here’s a rather lyrical quote from Yahoo! about why it's launching the Livestand app:
