According to Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, who issued a note to investors today, Apple supplier Wintek has reported that its sales grew by 61% month over month in July, which could indicate that the company has been busy producing components for Apple’s forthcoming iPad mini. AppleInsider writes that Wintek is one of the world’s biggest touch panel manufacturing companies, and one of Apple’s main partners, so the fact that the company has enjoyed its best July ever in terms of sales could be significant. White goes on to say that the rise in sales is even more significant because Wintek’s sales actually fell sharply in June, which is seen by many pundits as an indication that Apple will be using in-cell touch panel technology for the next iPhone, which is not something that Wintek manufactures. The slump in sales in June leads White to say that he thinks Wintek will not be involved in making screens for the next iPhone.
