Which model iPad(v2) to buy ? Is 32 GB more 'responsive'?

Hi

I am thinking of buying an iPad (as a gift), but am unsure which model to go for. Is the 32 GB more responsive than the 16GB? Or does the extra memory only become significant after the memory is nearly full?

It's not clear what the iPad would be used for. The iPad would be a gift to my elderly father, who would mainly use it for emails and web surfing (checking stock prices etc.) Although if my nephews ever gethold of it God knows what they will put on to it!

Is it possible to read books off the thing? If so is it better or worse than the Kindle? (Obviously it is much heavier and more expensive.)

- Any advice?

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

With regards to your question it really is a personal choice of how you are going to use your iPad.
The 16gb would be fine with what you say your father will use it for but having said that it is not until you have an iPad that you discover all the wonderful things it can do for you. There is no difference in the responsiveness of the iPad in regard to 16gb or 32 gb. It is a wonderful device for reading, photos, music and movies, the size of the screen is just superb for doing all these things and more. Here is a thread which may interest you, keep in mind the needs of your father, but it may give you more of an idea on the capability of the iPad.
