When is my 14 day return date over?

So when the new ipad came out, I preordered it on the 10th, and it shipped on the 16th. I am sure that my 14 day period starts on the 16th.
However, on the 20th, I went to exchange my ipad for another one because there were dead pixels found on it.

So the question is.. Would my new 14 day period start on the 20th? or will it still start at the 16th?
Thank you! Much help appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

The 14 day period only applies to if you change your mind and want to exchange it for something else. For warranty issues you have a year in which if a fault occurs they will replace or repair your iPad. There has been some confusion on when this warranty begins as some members noticed that it was on their receipts that this period began from the time they ordered their iPads, regardless even if you're just outside your Warranty period Apple have been shown to honor this.

For what's worth, my iPhone 4 malfunctioned and then bricked, during the update to OS5. I have an old, slowpoke DELL running WindowsXP which led to a poor interface during sync, upgrade attempt etc.
Anyway - my iPhone warranty was a month expired. The Genius ran a diagnostic ( at no cost to me ) and it showed there was an "event" when I tried to upgrade.
Whatever that means, Apple gave me a new iPhone 4 - no charge - even though my broken device was no longer under warranty.
