Watch online stream wmv file on iPad

Is there any way I can watch online stream file (such as mms://passmedia.sqlpass.org/share/dba/NewDBAFeaturesinSQLServer2012_011112.wmv) directly on iPad without download them and then convert them to mpg4/mov format and sync onto my iPad?
I want to watch the recording on the road via 3G connection.

Yes. VLC is no longer available for stock iPads.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting it. I snagged VLC before it was removed from the app store, and I just tried that link you provided. Although VLC opened up, it didn't play, so I guess you will need to find some other way in any case.
