I downloaded a text book in pdf format to my macbook pro through Borders that required Adobe Digital Editions to read on the macbook. I want to get the textbook PDF into the ipad so I could read it there also.

How can I move this pdf from laptop to ipad? Do I have to go the distance to the wifi site and down load directly from the website to the ipad.

Since I'm a cheapskate, I didn't go with the AT&T connection and the only wifi near by is miles away. (I hate spending all these separate fees to get each device when I can only use one device at a time.)

Thanks

hmm, the only way i can think of so far is to email it to yourself.

i'm honestly surprised you don't have wifi at your house :p

you can drag it into itunes, when you sync your ipad to your computer

The bad news is that Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is a Flash-based reader and that being the case, there is no way to read ADE content on an iPad. Well, almost no way. In order to read content in ADE format, one must "unwrap" the DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection from the file. One removed, any reader can read the document.

Technically, I know it is possible to unwrap the DRM from Adobe ePubs. Legally however... I am not a lawyer (and I don't play one on TV) so I can not comment on that aspect of unwrapping the DRM. As far as unwrapping the DRM from .pdf's acquired through ADE, there probably is a similar way to do this, but I am still researching this.

Sorry!
