Very perplexing problem with photos

Hi,

I'm having a problem with moving some photos to my iPad. I'm getting an error "some of yoru photos, including xxxx, were not copied to the iPad because they cannot be displayed on your iPad."

Very wierd. THe photos that don't display are in now way different that the ones that do copy, at least that I can tell. They are all .JPG or .Tif files, in some cases, from the exact same photo shoot. Some work, some don't. I have no problem with any of these images on any other program.

Any ideas?

Is image size a possible reason like movies?
