When I clicked on a prompt last week to sync my photos on iPad to Facebook and contacts, I was shocked to discover that in my "albums" hundreds of albums, which had originally been transferred from my windows laptop, disappeared!! The only albums left were those created from photos imported directly from my camera since I got my iPad a year ago.

Does anyone one know why this has happened and how to undo this situation?

Thank you for your suggestions however I still do not have a reply as to whether it is possible to unsync the prompt which caused my imported albums to disappear from "albums".

Hmm, I can't find any settings that should sync your photos to FaceBook. The only things I know of that should sync are Contacts and Calendars. That's under Settings > FaceBook. You can turn those off, but I doubt that will affect your photo albums.

I'm assuming you used iTunes to sync the albums from your computer.

If so, plug your iPad back into the computer and select it under the Devices tab. Go to the Photos tab at the top and see what your settings are. If you've turned off Photo Syncing at some point, then your albums would have been removed the next time you sync. This is not a copy. It matches whatever folders you've pointed it at, and will make changes based on those folder's contents and iTunes settings every time you sync.

If that's not it, let me know what you find and further details.

Oh, and if you have not done so already, try restarting and/or reseting the iPad first. That fixes all kinds of things, just like most other computers.

---------------------

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart. takes a bit longer than a restart.
