unable to load pics from pc to ipad

I am unable to upload photos from my PC to my ipad. When I open itunes there is no ipad listed along the sidebar. I downloaded the latest version of itunes yesterday but that did not fix the problem. My computer is recognising the ipad as a camera.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Thank you

As a quick trial, have you tried using each of the USB ports, sometimes one which has been working stops for some reason. So it's worth trying each USB port in turn just in case that is the problem.

I tried the ipad in a different port but the computer still recognises it is a camera and itunes does not list ipad in the sidebar as it is supposed to. Any ideas? Thx
