Remember that AT&T security breach last year when two hackers managed to exploit a hole in AT&T’s network and get hold of up to 120,000 email addresses from new iPad owners, including political and entertainment big-wigs, company executives and military leaders? Well the Guardian reports today that the two hackers in question were arrested by FBI agents this morning and charged with fraud and conspiracy to access a computer.

According to the Guardian, Daniel Spitler and Andrew Auernheimer were set to attend courts in New Jersey and Arkansas today, having been accused of being the masterminds behind the AT&T network server breach last June.

“Hacking is not a competitive sport and security breaches are not a game,†U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman in New Jersey said in a statement. “Companies that are hacked can suffer significant losses, and their customers made vulnerable to other crimes, privacy violations and unwanted contact.â€

The FBI will be holding a press conference later today to brief reporters on the case.
