transfering file

i know that you need to use itune to transfer file from the computer to the ipad,is there any other software that can do the same thing?

You can bypass iTunes completely if you use GoodReader and their companion (free) Windows program called GoodReaderUSB.

I use that literally every day.

have a look at iFile or USB Disk in the app store... it might be of interest.

Dropbox and Goodreader are both excellent. Both have email transfer support but Goodreader allows you to transfer files from any PC/Mac via wifi if your iPad is on the same wireless network. You can also download files directly into GR via a web link.
