Sounds lie a status bar with no active apps. Does it vanish if you tap the home button once?

Where is it located? Bottom of screen? Presume you did a cold restart of the iPad?

Tried a restart its at the top a thin grey bar right upbove the status bar

Its no big deal doesn't really bother me just is kinda weird

Sounds weird. Almost like a screen alignment /sizing issue.

You are a better person than me, that would drive me nuts!

Another odd thing is is when I rotate it when the status bar moves the grey little bar is still above it
