Speedtest.net is one of the most known websites in the world when it comes to assessing your download and upload Internet speeds. But not many know that the service has released also official apps for mobile devices. The official ‘Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test’ app for iOS has now received an important update which adds iPad support among other new features.

- Discover your Download, Upload and Ping
- Real-time graphs show connection consistency
- Troubleshoot or verify the speed you were promised
- Track past tests with detailed reporting
- Easily share your results

Version 3.2.0 of Speedtest.net is now an universal app, supporting iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. When used on the iPad, Speedtest.net can also be viewed in landscape mode. The latest version also makes Speedtest.net adjust dynamically for high speed connections. Also, the server selection user interface has been improved.

The connection testing usually takes under 30 seconds and provides pretty accurate results thanks to Ookla’s wide global network. You can use Speedtest.net to discover your download and upload speeds, as well as your Ping. You can also have a look at real-time graphs which show the consistency of your connection. You can also track past tests with detailed reporting and share your results. Speedtest for iOS is a free app but if you want to remove the banner ad, you will have to pay $1.

Thanks for this Radu, I've just downloaded it!

As usual, my internet speeds are woeful! :(

But that's life where I live. ;)

I've used the app on my iPad for quite some time. It always worked with the iPad, but as a blown up iPhone app restricted to portrait mode only.

My wi-fi speed is just as bad as yours. How do you manage?

As best I can......I guess I'm late to everything! ;)

I just happen to live quite a distance from the nearest substation or whatever they're called.

It certainly isn't good but then it's what I'm used to.

So yours is just as bad? We're in the same boat there! ;)

If it takes 5-7 hours for a minor update to download in iTunes then we are in the same boat.
