SPAM removal?

I have a 2 questions about Ipad's mail:

1) What can be done about SPAM? My Ipad gets my mail from a server that has SPAM control. When I get this mail from my Macbook pro, I don't get the SPAM; but when I get it from my IPad I do get the SPAM.

2) How can I retreive (on my Ipad) messages from an earlier date? I find that the Ipad eliminates old messages. I know that these are still on my server, so how do I get them?

Are you using the legacy POP protocol or the newer IMAP protocol? If you switch to IMAP you'll have access to all your email messages. Also, IMAP gives the iPad a virtual 'window' onto the email server, so you'll see - on the iPad - precisely what's on the server, including the folder structure.
