Share iPad 3G connection with my laptop

Hi all,

I am currently stuck on a location where my iPad 3G connection is working at it's best but there is no other possibility to connect my laptop to Internet due to lack of an available WiFi connectivity.

Is it possible to share my iPad's 3G connection with my laptop?

Usually this technique is called tethering but I have always seen it described between an iPhone ad another device. Never using the data connection of an iPad.

I'm afraid it is not possible to do this using a non-jail broken iPad. Only the iPhone4 has this capability.

Thanks! But from your answer I understand that if I had my iPad jail broken then it could be possible. Am I correct?
