I m thinking of getting a iPad 2. Do I need a second account to use with iTunes.

No. Use the same account; name your second iPad something different from your first. You can share apps and content between both iPads.

Yep, what Kay said, I have an iPad 1 and 2 running on the same iTunes account, I just organise my apps in iTunes accordingly.
