Safari cannot connect to server

I have started getting the message "safari cannot connect to server". Cannot find any real answer. Help please

Can you access other Internet related apps? Do you have an internet connection?

Yes I can connect.. The hyperlinks work fine on my desktop. Previously worked on iPad and iPhone. Now I'm getting cannot connect to server on both.
