roommate has multitouch, i don't

my roommate has multitouch gestures on his 4.3.2 iOS iPad, same exact as mine, but the multitouch isn't on mine. it's right under the mute setting on his and mine just doesn't have it. i updated to 4.3.3 to see if that would add it but it didn't. any ideas?
