Restoreed iPad... videos are GONE!!

Not just no longer on my device; there is no record I ever purchased them! What the hell use is the iCloud if it does not at least keep record of a purchased video? Am I going to have to buy these all over again? WTF?!?!?

Movies from iTunes need to be backed up by the buyer, if I remember correctly. The copyright legal mumbo jumbo with the movie industry doesn't allow Apple to back them up for you.
