Plug in Ipad and no photo option; what do I do?

Just got an ipad. Plug it in and there is no photo option under the ipad in itunes. How do I add photos?

I use the Photo transfer app.
Easy!!!

I dont want to spend money on an app for something that should be as simple as getting my photos onto my ipad. This is ridiculous.

I move mine with Dropbox. Others do transfer photos with Itunes all the time but since I haven't I won't/can't say much about it.
