Have a look and a go with this tutorial: http://www.ipadforums.net/jailbreak...lsafe-method-restore-current-version-ios.html

If the steps are followed exactly as written, you should end up with a stock iPad3 running iOS 6.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Marilyn

P.S. And, since you talk about a jail broken iPad, I've taken the liberty of moving your post over to the Hacking section. Thanks for your understanding.

Oops, my apologies. I missed that little "un" word. So, I moved it back to the help section.

I'm sorry the tutorial didn't work (it should work for non-jail broke iPads too). However, if iTunes persists on giving you an Error-1, you may have a hardware problem. Try doing the restore on a different computer or after disabling any security software. If that doesn't work my recommendation is to take it to the Geniuses at the Apple store for assistance.

Again, sorry for the mix-up. Good luck.

Please have a bit of patience in getting a response from the forum. Do not post in other threads about your issue.

I have twice deleted a follow-up question you posted in this thread (http://www.ipadforums.net/showthread.php?t=84563). Please don't ask there again; keep the conversation about your issue to this thread here [only].

Thank you.

Marilyn
