When I import photo and video from a camera using a connection kit, It won't transfer a video file, the empty video file says JPG and MPG &THM. What are those? Thanks

Sounds like the videos from your camera are incompatible with the iPad. The MPG+THM files you see are thumbnail placeholders.

Is there some kind of setting in the camera or is there a particular camera that works well with iPad?
No problem with photo or video transfer from iPhone though.

camera connector kit will only allow you to transfer jpg and raw file. no videos.

Try emailing videos to your email account on the iPad that's what I do.

Another workaround is to use Goodreader and Dropbox. Upload your video to a Dropbox account, then download the video from Goodreader on your iPad.
