Opening multiple web pages?

The guide is somewhat confusing about this.......It says to double tap a square symbol but the symbol is not shown on the browser page. Does it have something to do with the homepage on/off button on the device itself?

Almost forgot.......This is the Koolest device I have ever used...TG that the hinge on my Dell disintegrated and they wanted 2-$500 and a month out!!,,
Seems like yesterday that my 28k modem and 233mhz processor was as good as it could get!

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I feel you must be looking at an old manual, we are now on IOS 5.0.1 and if you're not seeing a square symbol your iPad would be at least 5.0. Have a look here. Settings - General - about and look for version.
The new safari has a + sign on the right to open a new webpage. I hope this helps.
