In Apple's latest Beta 2 of iOS 4.3, they seem to have removed the new Multitouch gestures. Those being the 4-5 finger swipe home, swipe up to app switcher, and swiping through apps. Apple did, however, leave a nice little note why:

"This feature will not be enabled in iOS 4.3 for customers, but we are providing this preview to gather input on how these gestures work with your apps.
Developers are encouraged to evaluate any existing interactions in their applications for potential sources of interference. In order to properly interoperate with multitasking gestures, applications must properly handle the following methods and notifications"

So whether we're going to see this in a future firmware or not, is for Apple to decide. Maybe they weren't happy with some of the complaints they received? 4-5 fingers too many for people who had theirs sawn off? We will probably see these features later on, but there could be some change or addition to them.

Why is this shocking? They did the same thing with iOS4 to developers, removing print, multitasking etc throughout the various beta's.
