I am new to the forum and it looks very helpful.
I have just noticed that IOS 4.2 is available so will upgrade my new iPad tomorrow (and my iPhone 3G which is very frustrating on IOS 4.0).
Looking forward to learning and contributing

Welcome!! 4.2 is supposed to include some speed updates. So hopefully it will help your 3G some.
