:cool
Well let me introduce myself and then i got to do some posting and reading!
My name is Rick parker, I am retired now, also a disabled vet, old school marine. I retired from the DOD at CCAD military base here in town. Was an IT/IS/MIS Director for 22 years. Designed automation systems (SCADA) systems for short, supervisory control and data acquisition. Did the normal stuff to, website design for our company, designed various pieces of equipment, from osmosis systems to plating shop computerized lines. Guess I got into computers before there were computers, started out on commodore 64 , bbs's, you old timers remember the good old modems in those days..it was a blast. Learned industrial programming mostly, but being retired gave me the chance to get I to macs..started out with a Mac mini. Still using 1too, did some upgrading of course, ram, extra hard drive its an i7 2.6, dual core...works great on the 27 inch thunderbolt, but must admit I am interested in the new oct 2012 build. The 1 Terabit fusion drive, i7 quad core, 2.6 MHz I think that's the specs. Then got 3 iPads, Logitech revue, google TV, Apple TV , even got an android galaxy 2 tablet. I guess my best system is an asus x79, water cooled CPU , 3.6 MHz sandy bridge, hold 8 hard drives, has 2 hot swap drives, use. Them for running my windows 8 at the moment, win 7 on the main side, got 2 Terabit hard drives. Guess I got my whole house wired, even got cameras around the house, remote ac/heat over wifi. Running everything on 2 Cisco routers plus a couple Cisco extenders. Guess for the personal stuff...got M.S. will in the marine corps during Vietnam era. 180 percent disabled, still does not slow me down though...try to keep up on the tech and my toys these days. Well I guess that's enough introduction I think I need, anyone got questions, please ask them! Going to do some browsing now..great to be here guys..looking forward to earning more about macs iOS and so on......see ya on he forum!
