New to IPad

My wife and I got each other IPads for Christmas. Lots to learn. Already made one mistake, added a gift card to her new apple ID, when we previously had one account that I had for our IPods. I've now learned that we should only use 1 iTunes account so that we can continue to share some stuff, but she could have a separate ID for iCloud for her contacts, etc.
