New to IPAD with IMAP problem

Hi All

I am new to the iPad. Actually its my friend that has one and I am trying to get him up and running with it. We have one question to start with. He uses a PC Laptop for his main machine with an IMAP account so all the mail folders are stored on the ISP's server rather than locally.

IT all works on his iPhone and his new iPad but what we have noticed is in the sent items folder is that on both devices it displays the senders name rather than the recipient on each email. Not very helpful when there are a couple of thousand emails in sent items.

My iphone is pop3 and any sent items show the recipient.

Any ideas?

As usual it seems I have hit on a problem that nobody else has. I have had a good search round and cant find a solution. Hopefully somebody somewhere will have come across the same thing.

I use Gmail and in my Sent box it shows the "send to name," not the sender. I say that so's you know that (1) I have no idea what is happening with your friend's account and (2) I'm just throwing ideas out there...

Maybe you could go to the web side and see how Sent e-mails are set up to be displayed? The iPad is only a "mirror" of what is on the server. And, given that this behavior occurs on both the iPad and the iPhone, I'm thinking it might be the e-mail account on the server side, not the iDevices.

Other than that, I've got nothing. Sorry.
