I'm David Woodbury, with a 20-year-old son, Sam, who is non-verbal and has autism. Sam has severe physical and mental limitations but has good receptive language for day-to-day needs. He has no expressive language apart from a few emphatic gestures. He has had a GoTalk device for a year or so and sometimes appears to use it appropriately, so we have helped him acquire an iPad. We, his parents, are learning how we might mount it so he can make use of it to entertain himself and how we might set it up to provide him some options for expressing himself or responding to questions (e.g., what do you want?). We welcome any experience that other users have using the iPad in for this sort of thing, and if we gain any useful experience, we will share that also. Thanks! =DAW=
