Hi all,
I will soon be getting my first Ipad :) Looking into refurbished models, so I'm not sure what I'll end up with yet, but very excited. I've tried to do some research regarding tethering to my Droid X, but it seems most of what I find about this is a bit confusing or old information. I am grandfathered into the unlimited data through Verizon.

I don't really understand many of the concepts about rooting and jailbreaking and such. I just kind of want to make sure it's possible (without the $20-$50 cost from verizon - that range depended on who I talked to with customer servcie) and then I can come back and find the best route to do so.

Also, because I'm going the refurb route, I'm guessing that if i found a good deal on an ATT IPAD 3 with the cellular plan, I wouldn't necessarily have to activate it? Verizon has told me I will, then I won't be able to switch it over to verizon in the future. Looks like they don't know anymore than I do...hahaha.

Any help would be greatly appreciated for this newbie. :):p
