New mailboxes; How?

Hello,

How do I add a new mailbox to the existing default ones ?

I read the manual, but cannot get to any Add A New Mailbox option under any Edit, or anywhere else, choice.

How do I do it, please ?


Have a new ipad3.

Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add New Account

Then follow the prompts!

If you mean folders under existing account in most cases you must create them with a web client or other means then the iPad will display them and allow you to navigate them. iPad not able to create folders but in certain cases (IMAP I believe)

On page 109 of the User Manual it says:

Add a mailbox
Go to the mailboxes list, tap Edit, then tap New Mailbox.

I don't want to add a new Account.

All I want to do, is to add,a few Folders like the In, Sent, etc. ones that re there as defaults.
The user manual certainly seems to imply that it is easy to do.
There are even blank lines under the default ones for, presumably, having them listed.

But, no New Mailboxes seems to appear when you do the Edit ? Why ?

Any thoughts on doing ?

What type of account? Pop3, exchange, IMAP? And what provider yahoo gmail, Comcast, etc?

Thanks much Gabriel ! I was somewhat sure about IMAP accounts. Exchange I overlooked only because I do those setups on the Outlook side and they simply replicate to the iPad.
