Good news for people in Taiwan who have been waiting patiently to find out when Apple’s new iPad will be available in their country, as AppleInsider reports today that the new LTE-capable iPad has finally been certified by the Taiwanese government, and will therefore soon be on sale in the country, possibly even by May. If this is the case, it would mean that Taiwan gets the latest iPad ahead of the Chinese mainland, just as it did with the iPhone 4S, which was released in Taiwan a month before it was released in China. According to a report in the Mandarin-language Economic Daily News, both the Wi-Fi and 4G versions of the new iPad have been inspected by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission, and found to be in compliance with all of Taiwan’s wireless laws. However, AppleInsider notes that as with many countries around the world other than the US, Taiwanese consumers will not be able to take advantage of the new tablet’s 4G LTE capabilities, as that facility is not yet available in the country.

Does any one else find it strange that apple products that are manufactured in China are not available to Chinese buyers at the same time as they are released 1st time officially in America.
