Hey everyone, I'm new here and a new iPad user. Have a question for all u pros haha. I've heard of VPN, although dnt know how to set it up. I lived in turkey most of the year and just got bk after being in uk a while. Can anyone tell me exactly how it's set up or if there is somewhere that can help me out, I'm not the best with this sort of thing so would need explaining to like a child haha. Thanks for any help x

Hello Mrs. Cinar - welcome to the forum! :)

VPN is an acronym for 'Virtual Private Network' and is a means to 'tunnel through' the internet w/ encrypted data that is interpreted only by the the client and server communicating; client and server software and setup is required. For myself in the past, I communicated from my home computer to my medical center's severs via a Citrix client to check my reports and other patient information securely. Check HERE for more details explaining VPNs!

Now you may first want to explain further 'why' you might need a VPN setup? Also, I'm not sure what is available in your home country? So a little more information might help others advise you better - good luck!

As already stated, VPN is used mainly were data has to be secured while travelling over the internet; streaming movies/TV shows/etc. would not really be a security issue? Do you have an internet connection w/ a home Wi-Fi network? That is the way that I stream movies & radio at home - works fine.

Not really sure about your country and what is available and what may be not available or censured? You'll have to provide a little more information on those questions, and hopefully someone from your area will 'chime in' w/ more specific suggestions - good luck! :)

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

There are apps available to stream shows, BBC and Crackle just off the top of my head, but I don't know if they are available in your App Store there. You do not need VPN though as far as I'm aware, like Giradman said VPN is used more for security when say connecting to an open wifi.
