Wherever our RV is parked
This is my first post. My wife and I are both iPad users, not iPad2. They are the originals and their big brother is an iMac. They are perfect for our lifestyle.

We are also retired and traveling in our 40' motorhome full time. Our home is where we park the coach.

We are interested in knowing if there are other RVers in the forum. If so, we would love to hear about interesting ways they use their iPad in conjunction with RV travel.

Welcome to the forum.

I live in an RV, and an RV park, but I can't call myself mobile. I've moved the trailer maybe four times since I got it in 2001, and been at my current park (owned by my aunt) for four years. In some ways the RV makes the iPad slightly less useful. The main computer is always so close that using the iPad for remote internet access is pointless (except when lazing about in bed, of course).

Instead I tend to use it in conjunction with the computer, as separate device of looking things up and, of course, playing an occasional game. I also enjoy reading a lot of my internet content on it, even when sitting at the computer. It's just a more comfortable reader than the big screen.

And books, of course. Probably 90% of my books are ebooks these days. I'm sure you've noticed how quickly books become a pain to keep in an RV. At least of you're like me, and don't like to get rid of them just because you're finished reading them. ;)

Hi there Barry & Jann, and welcome.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for both iOS 4 and 5.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/

Finally, if you still haven't had enough, how about a video explaining about our other forums (note:you may want to play this at half speed but hey, why shouldn't Phil be excited about our forums!)

The Archangel
