Hi, I'm a new iPad2 owner and I'm trying to transfer my collect of CDs, ripped onto my HP laptop as MP3s, to the
iPad using iTunes, which I've never dealt with before. I've read all the introductory material I could find, including the stuff linked from these forums but still seem to be doing something wrong.

So I installed iTunes on my HP laptop (running Windows XP), opened an account, connected my iPad, did the initial sync, everything seemed to work fine. I imported my MP3s into iTunes library on my laptop (as well as a bunch of ebooks I had), that went fine. I got a bunch of apps, that went fine.

Then I synced my iPad via wifi. it seemed to go through all the steps including transferring files to the iPad (and taking a while to do it, which seemed reasonable). But once it was done, I could not find the music on the iPad.

Come to think of it, where am I supposed to find it? Cannot find it on the iTunes app or the
Music app. Music app shows nothing and iTunes app just shows ads, New and Noteworthy, What's Hot, and Quick Links. Pressing Downloads at the bottom just gets me Terms and Conditions in virtually every language ever spoken.

Any help would be appreciated.

So I've learned some things since. I guess the buzz I've read indicates a lot of folks not being able to sync their music to their iPads. HOWEVER, you can simply drag your tunes in iTunes on your PC over to the iPad icon, they'll copy over, and you'll see them on the iPad Music app. So for me, syncing does not work for my music, but I don't care as long as I can get my music on my iPad somehow! So I'm claiming victory here.
