Brief History:
I am a 68 year retired Commercial Artist/Job Printing Hand and Machine Compositor. (Linotype Operator). Spent a few years labouring and signwriting in Construction Industry in the Coal Industry (draglines, wash plants, longwall mining underground here, west of Mackay.
Was lucky enough to house mind George Harrison's home on Hamilton Island. Sadly he had passed away before then. Have many photos and sketches of George's holiday home here in Oz.
Reasonably proficient
with Apple Computers. Was, and still am, an Aldus Freehand programme fan, until it's demise. Photoshop user.
I use an iMac and a Laptop. Now iPad, I use an Amazon Kindle for book reading. Love today's technology. Started using computers back around 1986, using the Atex system used in Commercial Printing and Newspapers. No screen images, just a html style programme on the screen. Your end result had to go through developer and fixer onto photographic paper.
I enjoy portrait painting and drawing. Have travelled to Canada, USA, England and Europe. I have stayed in Amsterdam often. Have travelled throughout
Europe a number of times. Last year was my last trip throughout the European countries. I have always carried a visual diary with me. Much better to sketch the items than taking holiday shots. Finished up with a few days in fantastic Dubai.
Planning a driving trip throughout USA next year.
My employment at present: I enjoy driving a Courtesy bus for a major Entertainment Club in the district.
