Music plays by itself

Hello:

Just purchased a 3G Wi-fi iPad. I shut it down at night, went to sleep, and at 2:30am it started playing music so loudly that i had to jump out of bed, grab it and throw it under a pillow (so as not to wake up anyone else) and then try to figure out how to turn the volume down or the music off while under the pillow. After having figured it out, I looked at the iPad and cannot figure out why the music started playing so loudly. It wasn't even music that I own so I'm not sure if it was iTunes or Pandora that went off.

Any ideas why this would go off by itself? I hadn't installed any alarm clock but can't figure out any other reason that this would have done this.

Thank you for any replies!

David

A couple of possibilities. Do you have an app that provides audible notifications? I have Pocket Informant - it's a diary and calendar app - that has a wide variety of 'alarm' sounds - many of them musical - that can 'play' when the alarm goes off.

Another possibility is that I have TuneIn - the Internet radio player app, which has an in-built alarm facility that can turn the radio on a specific time.

To avoid this happening in future, turn the iPad off completely by pressing and holding the Power button until the slider control appears and then accept the offer to completely switch the iPad off.
