Work on Apple's upcoming Campus 2 building in Cupertino has continued throughout the fall, and now we have some fresh updates on the construction coming from AppleInsider. The publication has shared fresh aerial images which show that the spaceship-shaped structure has rapidly grown from basic foundations to the beginnings of an actual structure.

Over the last two months, despite the early darkness of winter and unusually torrential rains, work on Apple Campus 2 has continued on an aggressive schedule. The bare, compacted soil fill of the excavated spaceship ring structure is now completely covered, with concrete joists now being laid out to build a floor structure.

Earth ramps extending down into the ring floor are all gone; vehicles access is now provided through channels that will eventually connect to a rebuilt Pruneridge roadway that ducks underground to send cars beneath the surface to either the basement of the ring or to the two large parking structures at the south end of the site.

A separate 120,000 square foot "event center" that is costing the company around $161 million has now appeared on video. It will allegedly house an auditorium and product demo space for the company's media events.

The parking facility is already built up to the third level and it is the first of two similar structures being built that will together provide parking spaces for over 5,000 cars visiting the campus.

Apple also submitted revised plans in October adding a few offices, testing facilities, and additional parking garages onto the second phase of construction. The complete campus should be finished by the end of 2016.
