I am a 79 year old Grandmother, who acts as the family photographer and archivist. I am buying the New Ipad shortly and the only thing that worries me is transferring my 2,500+ photos. I do not have a mac computer but Windows7 (I am also going to buy the new iPhone5 as soon as it is out to keep up with my family who are all Apple enthusiasts.

I would like to know the easiest way to transfer my photos initially and yet keep them in my monthly. ( 9years x 12months)

Has anyone any suggestion

You can try using any Windows program like iFunbox or iExplorer to the files in your iPad and just manage it there.
