Hello , I am in a real pickle....I have 12 films which are in various formats, avi mp4 mpeg-4 movie and h264, I have had major major issues with transferring them onto my ipad2. I managed to add 3 films SOMEHOW!....but I cannot add any more. I am using iTunes and yes they are the latest versions on both my windows 7 laptop and My ipad2. I have a alternative media player, so playing the different formats is not an issue, it's the transferring them over that's a nightmare. LAstly, my windows 7 laptop is about to die, so my back up is a Xp sp3 net/note book , will this allow me To connect up with iTunes...I tried before and the DEVICE didn't show up, but maybe now I've actually connected using the windows 7 , might it connect? mAny thanks

I'm not sure what video player you are using, but often times apps will allow you to import directly into the app.

Connect your iPad and open up iTunes. You'll see your device name on the left, say, "iPad" or whatever. Click on it there. Now up at the top you'll see "summary" "info" "apps" "music" etc. Click on "Apps". If you look towards the bottom, you'll see "File Sharing" and underneath that a list of all your apps that will allow you to import/export files directly to and from the App.

Is your media player in there? If so, click on it. You can click the "Add..." button or simply drag and drop into that list window.

That's how I do it.

As far as your XP box, if it's not working I'd try to uninstall iTunes, then reinstall.

Someone else who knows more might have some suggestions, I'm still an iPad newb.

edit: What size is your iPad disk? How large are the videos you are trying to import? On your iPad, open Settings, go to "General" and then to "Usage". Do you have enough space on your iPad to import more files? Something to check, I guess.
