Listening to music

I just downloaded my first song from iTunes. Can you not listen to music without being connected via WiFi to iTunes? You would think that you could listen to music wherever you were (like on an airplane). Am I missing something?

You dont need wifi to listen to music on your ipad.

Unlike on your computer where you do everything through the iTunes program (purchase and play), you can only purchase music through the iTunes app on your iPad, but you listen to what you bought through the iPod app!

Yes, iTunes on the computer is like the catch all garbage disposer app. And it isn't at all the same as the iDevice app. That is because of the limited memory on the devices.

Apple needs to overhaul iTunes completely.
