To me thats like spitting against the wind, you are charging and discharging at the same time,it will take longer to charge, turn it off.

Some alarm clock apps will actually tell you that you should keep it plugged in to the charger over night because if you are low on battery power before you go to bed and your iPad shuts off in the middle of the night, then what good is having an alarm clock app???

It doesn't hurt anything to leave it plugged in to the charger, however.

When i go to bed i just plug it in to the wall socket then later switch to the iPhone using same adapter have been doing this since day one. Only exception is if I have not used the ipad much and it does not need charging. You do not have to turn it off
