Keyboard appeared in Ibooks

The keyboard has popped up in IBooks hiding the bottom half of the pages and I can't get rid of it. Any ideas why it appeared and how to get rid of the keyboard??

Have you tapped the icon in the right lower corner? This dismisses the keyboard.

Yes, I keep tapping the icon in the lower right and nothing happens. I am at a loss.

Try a reboot. Hold the power button and home button down until your iPad shuts down and keep holding them until you see the apple logo.
