Is This Normal?(YouTube Mobile Through Safari)

Each time I go to youtube's mobile site through safari on my ipad2 and play any video first I don't see any icons when I play a video until I pause the video. I can't even go do another search until I pause the video. And second there is no volume control at all not even in full screen mode.

Is this normal on youtube through the ipad?

At least you can play videos. When I try to view a youtube video on the ipad2, it plays for two seconds, I have to hit the button again for it to start and play for 2 seconds (or shorter) again. I know the ipad can play videos cause it has a youtube app on it. What gives?
